Share a few tips for surviving in web3 (Wallet Security)#
To start, if you want to systematically learn and eventually master crypto trading, I strongly recommend reading Teacher Yu's @evilcos "Self-Rescue Manual for the Dark Forest of Blockchain." The blockchain is a dark forest, and we traders cannot just think about making money while neglecting wallet security; don't let criminals easily steal your achievements. Before thinking about how to make money, you must first protect your principal!! Manual link
1. Don't rush to click airdrop links#
Many users can't wait to click on airdrop links released by project parties, completely ignoring that the accounts of the project parties or KOLs may have been hacked. For example, many projects like eigenlayer and puffer have encountered such incidents, and the links released at that time are often phishing traps. My approach is to wait until at least 3-5 well-known KOLs share the same project's airdrop before I use a secondary account to check (Note: Never use your main account to lead the way).
2. Be cautious about participating in projects that require downloading Chrome extensions#
There have been cases where malicious Chrome extensions could steal user cookies, leading to account password theft. Avoid downloading extensions casually unless absolutely necessary.
3. Absolutely do not engage with projects that require software downloads#
Last year, several of my small wallets were hacked because a trojan disguised as mining software was installed on my device. Since then, I have skipped all projects that require downloading desktop software, including those that require using a virtual machine.
4. Do not store large amounts in your trading wallet#
This point goes without saying: only store an acceptable amount that you are willing to use for trading in your trading wallet, and never transfer all funds from exchanges into it!
5. Do not update fingerprint browsers unless necessary#
Based on previous lessons from stolen ads, do not update fingerprint browsers or other desktop software unless necessary. Many features are version-bound, and you cannot predict which update will introduce vulnerabilities instead of improvements.
6. Download all plugins in the fingerprint from the Chrome market#
Also stemming from the ads issue, supply chain poisoning attacks indicate that plugins in application stores may pose risks. Be sure to install all plugins through the official Chrome market and avoid downloading from Baidu or Google searches.
7. Do not ask others for installation packages#
Many friends in the crypto community are accustomed to asking others for installation packages, such as VPNs, emulators, or assistant tools. This is not a good habit; if the other party provides a malicious package, the consequences could be dire.
8. Do not easily click authorization#
Last year, I almost fell for a scam: after the project party's Twitter was hacked, they posted a phishing link containing a "claim" button, which, when clicked, directly displayed authorization to transfer all assets. Once confirmed, the wallet would be compromised. Therefore, always check carefully when confirming or authorizing wallet operations!
9. Always use a new wallet when importing wallets#
Many projects (such as wallet types or new platform launches) require wallet imports, and I always use a newly created wallet to handle such requests.
(There are many more tips; I will share more in future posts. Finally, here are a few small reminders from group friends!!!)

🔥 Solving the issue of accessing OKX exchange in China#
Many exchanges' original domain names may be restricted, or access delays may occur due to overseas servers. Ordinary users often mistakenly believe that the platform services are down, but in fact, it is mostly a network environment issue. To address this situation, exchanges like OKX and Binance regularly update backup domain names to ensure users can access the official website through alternative addresses.
